But when the gal goes back..the balance oweing is 6.5k.4k is what the finance company would settle on to pay her off.But what garage would buy a car that isnt HPI clear?fraid she will go back....the insurance for the vectra is almost half of what i was paying on the Galaxy.

In cases where a repossesed car is sold for more than the debt, the finance company willl (in theory) pay you the difference less costs.

 

There are 2 problems here though,

 

1 The costs they incur are likely to be significant, ie if the car sells for

When I wanted to change my Gal for an S-Max my finance company wanted 8k balloon payment (PCP plan, 3 years paying and balloon payment at the end). I was just going to let them have it back but found out it was worth a lot more than 8k and in the end I got 11.5k trade in against the S-max. The garage paid the 8k owing on the finance and I had 3.5 k deposit straight away.

Tiny is dead right in what he is saying i.e. if you sell to a garage, they should pay the finance off for you so no HPI check problems and you could come out of it with a few bob in your pocket.

That was just to give you an idea. I nearly used them but went to a Ford garage instead. Why dont you give it a quick makeover (except the bumper) and try a Ford garage. Nothing to lose.

I dont have the money to do anything to her..the most obvious damage is the front left...TBH..even if she goes back..as my name isnt on the finance agreement..its not me that ends up paying off any shortfall...just sorry to see her go.

 

I can try the ford garage though..as there is one in the village..doubt they would offer much for her anyway.

thats because mazda did some market research before they took the plunge and built 800 of them in that colour and spec! they found out that in the world as we know it there are only 800 colour blind people with really bad taste in cars with more money than sense! :lol:

Long as the finance peeps keep to their 4k settlement..she is sold.there was no bullsh1tting...I told them what was wrong with her...i know how much its going to cost to get her fixed..lookinag at around 3k for her to be done properly...

No hun..that will be outright....nowt over..at least i will know she is going to a good place..just have to clear it with the finance peeps on tuesday..touch wood they will still let me settle..as their 4k quote was only for 7 days.if they agree..i will spend a couple of days cleaning her up..

She will be going to a garage..and the owner himself wants her for himself..if he fixes her up as to how she should be then sells her..at least i know she will be at her best as that is how she should be..cant believe im so attached to this car!..all he did was walk around the outside of her..and i just listed all that was wrong.no point trying to gloss over anything as thats not me..
